These two islands Drvenik Veli and Drvenik Mali seem to be overlooked by most tourists and yet they stand really close to the mainland and popular summer holiday routes. If your plan is to travel through Central Dalmatia and wish to have a short adventure break, you could consider this trip because it’s as simple and as good as it gets for two days!
It’s about kayaking around scarsely populated islands, camping in unspoiled nature just few meters from the sea, making swimming and snorkeling breaks at our will and pace in beautiful spots.

Day1

08:30 AM. Meeting with our guide. After checking all our necessary equipment, we’ll take a private shuttle from Split up the coast an hour to Trogir and then over the bridge to Čiovo island. We’ll unload the kayaks and start our paddling adventure.
Our destination today is the island of Drvenik Mali. (Small Drvenik). A really tiny island (only 3.43 km sq.), with only 60 residents, the unspoiled nature and gorgeous clear sea lures mariners from all over. No paved roads and no cars, locals love coming here to enjoy are allowed to be used on the island. Despite a population of only 60 residents, the island is well known for its delicious olive oil and carob. Carob is a tree which grows hard-shell pods that are harvested and then ground into powder that is used to make cakes, on pastry and even to make liquer. Overnight in tents on Drvenik Mali island!

Day2

After breakfast we will start our paddiling day towards the island of Drvenik Veli (Big Drvenik) and the Blue Lagoon (Krknjasi Lagoon), a natural phenomenon of amazingly clear blue water with a sandy bottom just off the east part of the island. Even though ‘big’ Drvenik is 12 square km, it too has very few people living here. The island is covered in low bushes of aromatic herbs, but its 24 km of coastline is magic for locals because of its sand and pebble beaches and many coves and bays.
Today we will cover approximately 9nm. After enjoying swimming in the Blue Lagoon and lunch, we will proceed back towards Ciovo island where we will arrive in the late afternoon. After we pack all of our gear in the van, we will have a farewell drink to celebrate our great two adventure at sea. Transfer back to Split and end of the tour.
